Robert Manges of Riverton (1971-2014)

(Riverton, Wyo.) – Robert Paul “Bob” Manges, 43, of Riverton, died Monday, July 28, 2014, at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper. A Rosary will be Friday, August 1, 2014, 7 p.m. at the Great Plains Hall. A Wake will follow later in the evening at Alberta Little’s residence, 419 Left Hand Ditch Road. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, August 2, 2014, 11 a.m. at the Saint Stephen’s Catholic Church with burial to follow at the Arapaho Catholic Cemetery.

Robert Paul Manges (Little Crow) began his journey on February 7, 1971, with his Arapaho family on the Wind River Reservation. At 1 ½ years old he was adopted by I.H.S. doctor John Manges and his wife, Carol. Robert, and his new brother, Chris moved to rural northern Vermont where he loved tractors, trucks, the outdoors, and drawing. He grew up to be a determined cross country runner, an enthusiastic swimmer, and a fearless downhill skier. Robert enjoyed trout fishing and won awards for his forestry skills.

But more than anything, Robert was known for being big-hearted and loyal to his family and friends. His sense of humor was contagious! Those who loved him in Vermont always wished Robert well as he reconnected with his Arapaho roots and became a dedicated trucker.

Robert leaves behind a loving Vermont family, his mother, Carol and step-dad, Mark Kilburn; his brother, Chris and family; his sisters, Breanna Kilburn and Tayva Young and their families; his step-mom, Jeanne Desrochers; his aunt Molly Boyle, his uncle and aunt, Thomas Manges and Jackie Manges and their family; and many friends including his best buddy, Joshua Doyle.

His Arapaho family, his wife, Crystal; his son, John Luke Manges; his stepchildren, Lashelle Shakespeare, Laquan Shakespeare, Lamount Shakespeare, Alex Behan and Deshaun Behan;his sister, Marcella A. Behan and family, Alberta T (Warren) Little and her family, Samantha (Willard) Wells and their children, Ivan and Troy Thomas, Lorie Thomas, Stanee Lopez, Nevach Thomas, Jolene Guzman, Donita (Gordon) Fulwilder, Athena and Jamie Moss, and their grandchildren, Octavian Thomas, Nicholas Lopez, Ismael Guzman, Jr.,; his sister, Wanda Trannum-White and her children, Monica Hines, Jenna (Aaron)Lane, Brittany White, and Melissa Harris; and her grandchildren, Uriah Hines, Jace Lane, Kaidyn Nevarez, Kavion Dearman, Carter Bealle, Parker Bealle, Matayah Hines, Arianna Lane, and Kyauna Dearman; his sister, Carlritn(John) Brown and family; his sister, Mary L. Travis James McGill of Fort Washakie (1981-2014)

(Fort Washakie, Wyo.) – Travis James McGill, 33,  entered into the Spirit World on Saturday, July 12, 2014, in Tucson, Arizona.  Traditional Prayer Services will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the Rocky Mountain Hall, officiated by Arlen Shoyo, Sr. A wake will be held at #2 Dead Horse Road, Darlene McGill residence.  Traditional Services will be held at the Rocky Mountain Hall at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 21, 2014.  Burial will be at the Sacajawea Cemetery with a feast and give away to follow.

Travis “Bia Guinyah Yesepeh” (Flying Eagle) McGill was born on March 26, 1981 to Darlene Weed-McGill and Maynard James McGill. He is survived by his Mother, Darlene McGill; Companion, Fawn Smith; Daughter, Ashleigh Byron McGill; Sister, Marie (Ben Jr.) Snyder; niece, Moriah; nephews, Kyle, Chad and Charles; Grandfather, Morning Starr Weed, Sr.; Best Friend Felipe “Chip” Tidzump; and Grandmother, Elsie Norah.  He is also survived by Aunts-Charlene Tillman, Flora (Richard) Burnett, Zelma Bell, Wilma (Harvey) Spoonhunter, Rose (Dean) Goggles, Elaine Weed, Leola (Vince) White, Marilyn Tillman, Sandra (Russell) Big Medicine and Lorencia Quiver; Uncles, Starr Jr. (Janet) Weed, Ernie McGill and George Leonard.  Numerous brothers and sisters (first cousins); numerous nephews and nieces also survive.

Burton Hutchinson, Sr. of Ethete (1929-2013)

Burton Hutchinson (Ethete, Wyo.) – Burton Hutchinson, Sr., 84, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013. He was born May 15, 1929 in Concho, Okla., the son of the late Judson Hutchinson and Josephine Iron Tyler.

Funeral Services with Veteran Rites will be held Thursday, May 23 at Wyoming Indian High School with Harrison and Arlen Shoyo officiating. An evening service will be held Wednesday at Wyoming Indian High School from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM and a wake and Native American Church service will be held at the family residence #360 Blue Sky Highway, Ethete. Interment will be in the Mission Cemetery, Ethete.

Burton was a lifelong resident of the Wind River Indian Reservation. He served in the Army and was stationed in Fort Carson in Colorado Springs and served in the Korean War. He attended Mill Creek School. He worked for CHR, was a heavy equipment operator for the BIA , served nine terms on the Northern Arapaho Business Council, served on the Wyoming Indian School Board, was a member of the Native American Church, was a spiritual advisor, chosen for prayers and cedaring at sacred sites, was invited to Camp Guernsey to speak to the soldiers, he spoke to students at the University of Wyoming, and he was a school grandpa. Hutchinson was also a WWE Wresting fan and enjoyed socializing at the casino.

Wesley “Hoss” Earl Quiver, Sr. of Ethete (1956-2013)

(Fort Washakie, Wyo.) – Wesley Quiver Sr., age 56, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2013 at the family residence following a lengthy illness. He was born September 14, 1956 in Lander, WY the son of the late Ruben Quiver and Marlene Noseep Quiver.

He resided on the Wind River Indian Reservation. He attended schools at Ft. Washakie, Mission, SD, Riverside, OK, and Intermountain Indian School. He was an electrician before his illness. He enjoyed going to the casino, football and was a fan of the Denver Broncos, softball, going to basketball games and being around his grandchildren, family and friends.

He is survived by wife; Becky Sage Quiver, daughters, Mardell C’Bearing, Keta and Justine Quiver, Reninette Tendore and Tiffany Day, sons; Keith, Derick, Wesley Jr. and Ruben Quiver, Clayton WallowingBull, Rex Curry and Ridin Fred and Wallace Day, sisters; Cleo Goggles, Lois, Marliss and Victoria Quiver, Marcelia Redman, Orlena and Zola Kills On Top and Ruby Whiteplume, brothers; Donnie, Mike, Herman, Lyle and Deland Quiver and Allen Jenkins Sr., 24 grandchildren, step mother Theresa Marie Wells, aunts; Mary Alice Addison, Julia Whiteman, Irenice and Anna Noseep, Laverne Hutchison, Alrita Talks Different, Tilly Jenkins and Rowena and Judy Day, uncles; Mathew and Willard Noseep, Marlin, Harvey, Terry and Theron Spoonhunter and numerous nieces, nephews can cousins.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 19th at 10:00 AM at Blue Sky Hall with Bishop Kenner officiating. Evening service will be held Monday, February 18 th from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Blue Sky Hall with a Wake to follow at the Becky Sage Quiver residence, #415 Blue Sky Highway. Interment will be in Yellow Calf Cemetery at Ethete with Military Rites.

KellyBrookeAntelope Kelly Brooke Antelope, 14 of Ethete, died on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at Blue Sky Hall at Ethete. Burial will follow at the Yellowcalf Cemetery.

A rosary will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11 at the Hall.

Kelly Brooke Antelope was born on Sept. 29, 1994 in Lander, the daughter of Aaron Lloyd Antelope Sr. and Clarina Anne Yellowplume.

She attended the Ethete Head Start for preschool, the Wyoming Indian Elementary School, the Wahpeton Indian School in North Dakota during sixth grade and during her seventh and eighth grades she attended the Wyoming Indian Middle School, from which she was graduated in 2009.

Her family said she enjoyed playing volleyball, crafts, sewing, hanging out with and texting her friends and family and playing video games.
