ST. STEPHENS - Funeral services for Kinnear area resident Alysia Marie Musalem, 48, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, May 16, at St. Stephens Mission by Fr. Gannon, S.J. Interment will be in St. Stephens Catholic Cemetery.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today, May 15, in Blue Sky Hall in Ethete, with Fr. Harold Luxon officiating. A wake will follow at the family residence, No. 161 Johnstown, Kinnear.
She died May 11, 2003, at Riverton Memorial Hospital, from a sudden illness.
Born Oct. 10, 1954, in Lander, she was the daughter of Alexander Sr. and Ellen Julia Smith; was a lifelong resident of the Wind River Indian Reservation; and attended school in Wind River.
At the time of her death, she was a family service manager for the Shoshone and Arapaho Head Start Program.
She enjoyed fishing, camping, and woodworking.
Survivors include her father and husband, Miguel Musalem, both of Johnstown; sister, Rolanda Smith of Kinnear; daughter, Marie Musalem, and two sons, Keith Smith and Miguel Musalem Jr., all of Kinnear; adopted son, Kyle Ferris of Fort Washakie; seven brothers, Alex Smith Jr. of Kinnear, Harold Smith of Mill Creek, John Smith of Ethete, Clarence Smith of Riverton, Preston Smith of Lander, Loren Smith of Kinnear and Ruben Behan of Thermopolis; a grandchild; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother; a sister, Rhonda Smith; and grandparents, Luke and Minnie Smith and Pete and Lucinda Aragon.
Wind Dancer Funeral Home in Fort Washakie is in charge of arrangements.
